Mamma Mia it’s Milos

Yes, yes I did feel like I was in Mamma Mia for the three days we spent here.

Accommodation
If you're island hoping then you'll likely come into the port of Adamas when arriving. A lot of people choose to stay here and whilst there is an abundance of bars and restaurants, Pollonia is much prettier and right on a beach (it is also only a ten minute drive away from Adamas).

We were in a villa which was nice but a five minute walk from the main front. Captain Zeppos, however, was central and looked luxurious. Had we been able to, we'd have stayed here but it was fully booked.

Pollonia itself was lovely. A gorgeous beach with a volley ball net which provided hours of entertainment (I was, of course, hopeless but a lovely Italian man patiently tried his best to teach me the basics). There are also great restaurants all along the waterfront and a brilliant winery (Kostantakis Winery & Residence). We indulged in tasting six delicious wines all for the grand sum of €4. My favourite, the sweet rose, was only €6.50 for a bottle.... result or what!

We also strolled around the family run vineyard which was only small and apparently only supplies Milos. If you're in Pollonia I'd massively recommend a trip whether you want a full wine tasting or just a couple of cheap glasses of good quality wine in a lovely location.
Eating
Ok, so now for the serious stuff: food. Milos really surprised us with the food as it was exceptional. Being in a villa we mostly picked up pastries from the bakery and ate there. For dinner, however, we went all out. The first find was Gialos, a Greek restaurant, which we went to twice because it was so good. With every seafood dish you could want, pasta, salads and some great veggie options, we were all in heaven. The owner was so friendly and the atmosphere was great. If you're going to Milos this is definitely the best place to go.
After our night at the winery we all needed some good grub to soak up the alcohol. We all tumbled into Hanabi which is a sushi restaurant. They had all your typical dishes as well as prawn tempura burgers and infused tagliatelle. I had dumplings and the most beautifully presented beetroot salad which really was sensational.

In Adamas we also had some great ice cream at Aggeliki which also offered waffles, crepes and desserts which made your mouth water. If you have a sweet tooth then there is no doubt that this place will be your kryptonite.
Boat Trip
For one of our days we went on a boat trip around the island as a friend had recommended it. Well what a great recommendation that was. Due to windy weather, we were taken round the West side of the island and that meant we saw Kleftiko. Having been a hotspot for pirates back in the day, it was truly the most beautiful place I've been with caves and coloured rocks stretching out the sea.
We cliff jumped, swam, ate and sun-bathed, relishing every moment. We were also given unlimited wine (get in) and before we got off we polished a bottle of ouzo between us. They were so welcoming and generous, it was such a special and memorable experience (a link to the website is below).

Plaka, Trypiti + Klima
On our final day we decided to explore the island. Buses in Milos are very cheap (€1.80), so we thought we'd make the most of public transport. We headed to Plaka and then walked through Trypiti to Klima. Now Milos only recently became a tourist spot so it isn't really set up for it yet. Whilst Plaka and Trypiti are lovely, they were quiet and very small (perfectly nice to walk around though)!

Klima, on the other hand, was incredible. It didn't have much to offer, with only one restaurant and a very small stretch of rocky beach, but it was beautiful. With picturesque painted huts all along the front, it looked like a Greek Balamory. Of the three places we went Klima was definitely my favourite.
All in all, Milos was lovely. It isn't high octane or parties all night, but a chilled out island where we had a fabulous few days.
